Plot Overview
A pair of phony cops take out the leader of the city's leading vice ring. Not long after, the new leader of the ring makes an extortion threat to a jazz club, Mother's, and then blows the place up, leading Peter Gunn, a private detective who uses the club as a de facto office, to get involved.

The Show
From the start, the series' trademarks are present, including Pete and Edie's relationship, in which his private eye business always seems to interrupt their romantic time, and also the give-and-take between wise-cracking Pete and world-weary Lt. Jacoby.
