Plot Overview
Even Petrocelli himself has to admit, if he were sitting on the jury, he'd have to find his client guilty. She's accused of killing her married boss, with whom she'd been having an affair, and was seen standing over the bloodied body holding the poker used to kill him. Nevertheless, he takes the case, and, after an initial bout of wondering whether his client or the victim wanted to end the affair, soon begins to look at other motives. Could his business partner have killed to avoid being exposed for using substandard materials in their construction work? Maybe it was a hot-shot in the company who wanted to moved up fast? Or just maybe it's his wife, who was humiliated by his seeming inability to issue divorce proceedings?
