Ashley Hammond, the fifth Yellow Ranger, is portrayed by Tracy Lynn Cruz. While Ashley was much more of a girly character than Cassie, she did have some tomboy-like qualities--and vice versa.

Character History

• 5x14 - A Drive to Win: Ashley first appears as the head cheerleader at Angel Grove High, with her eye on the top soccer star, Carlos. Both of these things would never be mentioned again after this episode.
• 5x19 - Passing the Torch (2): Tanya passes her Turbo powers onto Ashley.
• 5x34 - The Turn of the Wretched Wrench: Ashley joins the auto shop class, in order to prove that girls can work on cars, too.
• 6x19 - Invasion of the Body Switcher: Astronema disguises herself as Ashley in order to sneak on board the megaship.

Memorable Moments

• 5x20 - Stitch Witchery: Ashley designs a jacket in design class, which is not nearly as popular as her older design.
• 5x42 - The Rival Rangers: Ashley fights with Cassie over a guy, who is only looking to impress another girl.
• 6x13 - Grandma Matchmaker: Ashley's grandmother attempts to hook her up with a guy, only for Ashley to blurt out that she was dating the first guy that walked into the room: Carlos.
• 6x21 - Red with Envy: Zhane and Ashley begin to become closer, which causes jealously from Andros. However, Andros asks Ashley out on their first date, to which she accepts.
• 6x33 - A Rift in the Rangers: After being on the ship for so long, Ashley and Cassie are at each other's throats.

Trivia

• Tracy Lynn Cruz appeared as an extra in I'm Dreaming of a White Ranger--and supposedly Stop the Hate Master as well. However, whether or not this is supposed to be Ashley is undetermined.
• Ashley is, disputably, the first Yellow Ranger to not have more tomboy traits than the Pink Ranger.
• Ashley's last name of Hammond was confirmed through her grandmother in Grandma Matchmaker. Although it could have been her maternal grandmother, Disney's website confirmed that it was indeed Ashley's last name as well.
• At one point in time, Ashley--under a different name--was intended to be the Pink Ranger, with Carlos being the Red Ranger and Jenny Hunter--then named Ashley--being Yellow.
