Power of 10 is a game show that aired on CBS in primetime.

The show starts off pitting two contestants in a series of national survey questions (e.g. "What percentage of people sleep with a night light?"), and each player uses an indicator on a screen to denote their responses. They have ten seconds to do so. The correct answer is revealed, and whoever is closest scores a point. First to score three points moves on to the payoff round.

Here the surviving player is given similar survey questions. The first is worth $1000, and the margin allowed to lock in a correct answer with his/her indicator is within 40%. If correct, the player now goes for $10,000, and the margin is reduced to 30%. The $100,000 question's margin is 20% and the $1,000,000 question's margin is 10%. If a player misses at anytime, the game ends and the money is reduced by the power of 10 (if, for example, the player has $100,000 and misses the next question, he/she leaves the show with $10,000). But a player may stop at anytime with what he/she has won.

If the player wins the $1,000,000 question, the correct answer is not revealed. The player may now opt to play for $10 million by selecting the exact answer in that survey question.
