Plot Overview
Class clown Harvey Butcher has worn out his welcome at Whitman High and is about to transferred to another school, but Pete believes he can get through to the young man and has him transferred to his class. Under Pete's tutelage, Harvey's grades improve, his appearances in the detention room decrease, and he gets a job writing for the school newspaper, but the teacher suspects that there's a mask of sadness underneath Harvey's comedy.
