Plot Overview

After a bus he's traveling on breaks down, Paul gains a traveling companion, a teenager traveling alone whom he suspects is a runaway. Once it's determined that she's running from her grandparents, who have custody of her, Paul helps her get to Albuquerque and reunites her with her father and his new wife.

In the final scene, outside the bookstore. Tina, "playing the game of guess what your past is?" Looks at Paul an say's, Whilst on safari in Africa you caught a fatal disease...and...there's no...cure? Now you traveling the world...trying to forget your fate? Paul, whilst leaning into the backseat of a red convertible rental to retrieve her guitar, pauses for a silent moment. Than looks up at a worried teary eyed Tina, Oh Paul...please tell me I didn't guess it? Paul's rebuttal , NO, but you do play a good game. She replies, you scared me for a moment...will I ever see you again?

Paul soon drives off down a long lonesome highway as a solum Tina looks on...
