Sealab 2020 is an animated science fiction show that aired on NBC.
In the year 2020, Dr. Paul Williams leads an undersea team in studying marine life in a domed experimental city. He is joined by Mike Murphy and his niece Sally and nephews Bobby and Jamie, who were rescued from a troubled ship by three Sealab aquanauts.
This series holds back on humor and focuses on the drama of real life purposes of marine life, such as the food chain among sharks, the loss of oxygen and migration habits.
Some thirty years later, Cartoon Network would turn the show in a ribald spoof of itself as Sealab 2021.
