Plot Overview

When Miranda discovers that she has been dating a 'modelizer', Carrie researches this unique Manhattan phenomenom. Her efforts lead her to a fashion show, where she bumps into Mr. Big (who would appear to be a modelizer), and ends up taking home a model. Samantha sleeps with a modelizer who tapes his conquests.

  • The layout of Carrie's apartment in this episode is different to the pilot
  • This episode does not feature a Charlotte subplot
  • Possible goof: In Sex and the City, Derek (aka The Bone) is referred to as Stanford's only client. In this episode, he is described as 'Stanford's most important client.' Perhaps Stanford got some more clients between these two episodes?

Arc Advancement

  • Carrie sees Mr Big again
  • After making out at 'Chaos' in the previous episode, Miranda is not returning Skippers calls

  • 'The Bone' is mentioned in the pilot episode, Sex and the City, when Carrie describes Stanford Blatch as a talent agent with only one client - an underwear model.

Allusions and References

  • Old movie stars you'd have liked to fuck when they were young...

At the dinner party Miranda attends with Nick (the modeliser), the guests list Veronica Lake, Sophia Loren, Montgomery Clift, Marilyn Monroe, Bing Crosby and Sean Connery as 'do-able' olden day celebrities. In a humourous flashback, one of Nick's model dates answers with Charlie Sheen.

  • A Herb Ritts photo

Herb Ritts was a fashion photographer. During the vox pop interviews with models, Brad Fox, a catalogue model, claims that he has been giving one of his photographs as a gift.

  • ...whenever I see Christy Turlington, I just want to give up.

The object of Charlotte's envy, Christy Turlington is an American supermodel.

Memorable Moments

  • 'When did all the men get together and decide that they were only going to get it up for giraffes with big breasts?' Miranda
  • 'I began to realize that being beautiful is like having a rent controlled apartment overlooking the park: completely unfair and usually bestowed upon those who deserve it least... (later) I take that back. Beauty is fleeting. But a rent-controlled apartment overlooking the park is forever.' Carrie
