Season One of South Park premiered on August 13, 1997. The season led to South Park exploding in the mainstream, taking Comedy Central along with it. However, the season wasn't very heavy on the political satire and worked mainly in dick and fart jokes. The season ended on February 25, 1998 on the "Who is Cartman's Mom" cliff-hanger.
