Plot Overview

While Space Ghost attempts to burn several copies of the new Radiohead CD with a laser cannon in the control room, Moltar takes over the show and interviews Thom Yorke. Before long, Moltar decides that it's time for them to fight with knives and Space Ghost interrupts after failing miserably at burning the CDs. Moltar gives a lousy excuse as to why he has a giant knife, saying that Thom was writing a song about knives and wanted to see one. Space Ghost decides to write his own song.

After Moltar returns to the control room, he tells Space Ghost that his wife is on the line. Space Ghost tells him to hang up, but he puts her through anyway. He makes an excuse that he's in the middle of a space war and needs to go. Space Ghost explains that yes, he is indeed married, but Zorak isn't convinced because he doesn't seem to love her. After a while, Space Ghost's wife appears again, saying that she needs to go to the toilet. He gets rid of her again by saying he buried a present for her in the backyard.

There's an awkward silence and Zorak announces that he has a friend coming by and they're going to smash light bulbs out by the dumpster. Space Ghost desperately attempts to come with Zorak and get away from his wife. He's rejected and Björk appears on screen again. She tells him that maybe he should stay inside and he goes off on her. She gets cut off again, but appears shortly later with dyed hair. Space Ghost distracts her again by having her talk about Iceland to Moltar. Even when he's at the dumpster with Zorak, he can't get rid of his wife. Eventually, he decides to get remarried, but shoves her (on the television screen) off a cliff.

Notes

Guests

  • Thom Yorke: Thom Yorke is the singer for Radiohead, a British rock band that is most notable for their constantly changing style and often inexplicable music and videos. As well as acting as the singer, Yorke is also the lead songwriter. At the time of the interview, the band had recently released Amnesiac, their fifth album.
  • Björk: Much like the avant-garde stylings of Radiohead, Björk Guðmundsdóttir is an Icelandic musician who plays a style of music that combines ambient, trip-hop, electronic, jazz and alternative rock to make a unique style of music. Although she isn't exactly interviewed, at the time of the interview, she had released Vespertine, her most personal and lyrical album.

Allusions and References

  • Tricky: Tricky is a British rapper and producer who is most commonly associated with the trip-hop genre, despite his loathing for the name "trip-hop." Tricky's style of music manages to bridge the racial barrier between black and white British by combining rock and hip-hop into his songs. He has collaborated with Björk several times in the past.
Space Ghost: As long as I've got you here, tell that French DJ Tricky to move out.

Memorable Moments

  • Moltar hosts the show and demands that he and Thom fight with knives.
  • Space Ghost shoves his wife over a cliff in Budapest. Then Zorak shoves him over the cliff.

Quotes

  • Moltar: Thom Yorke, you are very very interesting, and very very perceptive!
    Thom Yorke: Really...
Moltar: So interesting and so perceptive that I think we will now fight with knives.
    Zorak: Yeah! To the death!
  • Thom Yorke: Here's to getting hitched, Space Ghost.
Space Ghost: Yeah. Let's drink until our hearts stop.
