Spanish Translation is the first episode of the first season of Space Ghost Coast to Coast. Because it is the first episode of the series, Spanish Translation plays more or less as a straightforward talk show episode.

Plot Overview

One of the few episodes to play as a fairly straight-forward talk show episode. Space Ghost talks to Susan about Mexican food and super powers, Kevin Meaney complains about Space Ghost's pants, and The Bee Gees stay for about 30 seconds. At random points in the episode, the show stops after a line is spoken and the line is repeated in Spanish.

  • Susan Powter: Most famous for her "Stop the Insanity" mantra that brought her to the forefront of the public's attention in ther early 1990s, Susan Powter is a motivational speaker, dietitian and personal trainer who has written several books that cause many to describe her as "the female Michael Moore.
  • Kevin Meaney: Kevin Meaney is a comedian and character actor who most often plays roles to be over the top and effeminate. He makes wide usage of catchphrases like "That's not right" and "We're big pants people" and starred in the short lived CBS comedy, Uncle Buck.
  • The Bee Gees: The most successful disco band of all time, The Bee Gees had hits like "Stayin' Alive" and were featured prominently in the film Saturday Night Fever. In total, the band has sold more than 180 million records and singles worldwide.

  • First Appearance: Because this is the first episode of Space Ghost, it features the first appearance of Space Ghost, Zorak, and Moltar.
  • Pseudo-First Appearance: Brak technically makes his first appearance during a commercial sketch, but he's not in his usual persona.

  • Orkin: Orkin Exterminating Company, founded in 1901, is the second largest extermination company in the nation. Founded by Otto Orkin, the company was first located in Pennsylvania before being moved to Atlanta, GA. The "Orkin Man" refers to a series of commercials featuring "The Orkin Man," a representative of the company who acts as the savior of the victim of rodents or insects.
Space Ghost: Zorak, just remember who has the Orkin man on their speed dial!
