Allusions and References
- The Matrix: The shadowy agents in this episode are an allusion to the agents from The Matrix trilogy. The agents, led by Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving), are programs created by the machines in the real world in order to police the Matrix for anomalies, namely the freedom fights from Zion led by Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne). They're defined by their dark glasses, black suits, earpieces and monotone speaking voice. The fight between Daisy and the agents is also a reference to similar scenes in the film.
- The Karate Kid: When Tim asks Daisy when she learned to take care of herself, there's a cut to her, standing one-legged on a rock and wearing a headband. In The Karate Kid, part of Ralph Maschio's training included balancing in the same "Crane" position.
