Allusions and References
- Cordelia Chase: Tim compares Twist to Cordelia Chase, a character billed in the first three seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, the spin-off series which picked up after that third season ended. Chase, played by Charisma Carpenter, was the stereotypical popular high school girl who frequently put down Buffy and her friends in social settings, but helped them against the supernatural when she was tied up in the matter.
- Tim: She's like Cordelia out of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and after that Angel, the spin-off series which is set in L.A.
- The Empire Strikes Back: There are several Star Wars references in this episode, many of them relating to Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. In the final scene, where Mike and Brian go off searching for Marcia, Mike yawns and makes a noise like Chewbacca before driving off. Meanwhile, from their flat, Tim and Daisy assume the same pose as Luke and Leia at the end of the film. Finally, the credits take on the style of the traditional Star Wars credits and the end theme plays.
