Plot Overview
There is one thing Spongebob Squarepants has dreamed to do all his life, and that's to get a job at "the finest eating establishment ever established for eating", The Krusty Krab.
He finally decides to make that dream a reality in this pilot episode of "Spongebob Squarepants".
He is met by doubt from Mr. Krabs and Squidward.
Mr. Krabs gets rid of our spongey hero by asking him to get a spatula that he thinks he made up.
Only when Spongebob leaves, they may need his help more than ever.

Characters
- Spongebob: Spongebob is the main character in this episode. He trys to get a job in the Krusty Krab and eventually prevails due to his loyalty to the Krusty Krab and his quick thinking.
- Patrick: Patrick Star acts as Spongebob's cheerleader in this episode. In fact, it seems he is the only person who believes Spongebob can really get a job at the Krusty Krab. At the end of the episode, he is sent sky-high by a stream of Krabby Patties that Spongebob makes with his high-tech spatula. That's gratitude for ya.
- Squidward Tentacles: From the start, we can see Squidward doesn't like Spongebob in this episode. He groans when Spongebob arrives at the Krusty Krab at first, and does everything in his power to stop Mr. Krabs from hiring Spongebob. Squid still doesn't change his tune at the end of the episode, even though he is rescued from the anchovies by Spongebob.
- Mr. Krabs: Mr. Krabs is a very interesting character in this episode. When we first see him, we can tell he loves money (he is smelling dollar bills before Squidward interrupts him). He's not exactly the salty, grouchy boss we're used to seeing in cartoons. He doesn't let Spongebob down hard, and instead sends him on a false tour and laughs at how gullible the sponge is. Finally, when Spongebob saves the Krusty Krab from the anchovies, Krabs is glad to have him aboard, unlike a certain blue octopus.
