Chris, Dave and Will are three CSC technicians who work on Sports Night under the supervision of Dana. During the broadcast, they sit in the front row of the control room, where they arrange graphics, sound effects and on-screen text. Although they all seem to have a healthy interest in sports, it is not their job to research sports or hunt down sports news, as with Kim and Elliott.
Even outside of the control room, they are almost always seen together. Chris and Will do seem to get on each others nerves from time to time, when they bicker over name-spelling, lighting, or other technical matters.
Trivia
In 1x03, we learn that they sometimes spend their time away from work together as well, playing three-on-three basketball games.
In 2x01, Dana tells Isaac that Will has a fear of lumber-related sports.
