History

Since its launching in 1991, Encore's multiplex channels (seven, as of July 2011) have exclusively aired featured films, originally from the 60s, 70s, and early 80s, and, since the late 1990s, mainly recent movies.

Beginning in the Summer of 2011, Encore alsp airs original programming. First to be aired were two movies: the adventure novel adaption Moby Dick (shown over two subsequent nights), and the documentary Method to the Madness of Jerry Lewis, alongside the four-part UK action mini-series The Take from 2009.

In 2012, UK miniseries The Crimson Petal and the White aired.
