Bandwagon is the twelfth episode of the first season of Stoney Burke.
Guest Stars: Mariette Hartley (Laura), Larry Gates (Senator Lockridge), Len Lesser (Leo), James Bell (Paul Grayson), Joan Chambers (Betty Jo), Jean Carson (Merle), Warren Stevens (Walter Stuart), Bruce Dern (E.J. Stocker)
Stoney is asked by Senator Lockridge, who aided his poor family when he was a child, for help in his re-election campaign, and despite the fact that he's not much on giving speeches, agrees to help. He soon changes his attitude toward the Senator when an old man in the audience interrupts his speech, yelling out that Lockridge is a liar and a murderer, and is brutally beaten by some of Lockridge's men. Stoney soon discovers what the old man was on about: Lockridge used substandard materials in some of his construction projects, including a building that collapsed and killed people, including the old man's son.
Outer Limits connections: Guest Star Warren Stevens appeared in the OL episode "Keeper of the Purple Twilight". Writer Meyer Dolinsky (a/k/a Michael Adams) was one of the Outer Limits' major writers, with three episodes to his credit. Director Laslo Benedek, likewise, oversaw three OL episodes.
