The Sugar Bowl is one of the end of season bowl games for NCAA Division 1-A football. From 1935 to 1974, the game was played at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans, LA. It was first televised in 1969 and aired on ABC through the 2006 game. It then moved to FOX for four years and is set to move to ESPN for the 2011 game. In 1975, the game was moved to the Louisiana Superdome, also in New Orleans. Due to damage to the Superdome caused by Hurricane Katrina, the 2006 Sugar Bowl was played at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA. The game traditionally hosts the SEC conference champion against a top tier at large opponent.
