Trial by Fire is the sixth episode of the second season of Survivor, and the twentieth episode overall.

Plot

3 days before the merge, Kucha had a one member advantage over Ogakor. And it looked like they might regain their winning streak when Nick led them to victory in the Reward Challenge. Ogakor couldn't hide their frustration. But before the Immunity Challenge could take place, the game took a violent twist. Michael passed out in the fire and was severely burned. Michael's evacuation left Kucha and Ogakor with 5 members each.

Tribal Happenings

Ogakor

• Keith & Jerri bickered when Keith insisted that the green tomatoes weren't perfect enough. Their bickering was short lived when Tina intervened.

Reward Challenge - Blind Leading The Blind

• The tribe found themselves neck-and-neck through the first two stations. Ogakor took the lead after their wine barrel overflowed. But a blindfolded Amber veered off track struggling to hear Jerri and Kucha passed Amber and won reward.

Tribal Happenings

Ogakor

• Jerri felt that if they lose the immunity challenge, they would picked off by the Kucha alliance after the merge.

Kucha

• The tribe were in peace and quiet pondering about their strength that hopefully would give them immunity. But peace met tragedy when Michael passed out in the fire and burned his hands. His evacuation brought the rest of his tribe mates to tears.

Ogakor

• Jerri found the tree mail and was shocked to see the note about what happened. She came back to camp and read the tree mail to the other castaways about the accident at Kucha. The news was bittersweet to Ogakor: they had escaped Tribal Council but were shocked to hear the news about what happened.

Kucha

• The tribe made a bonfire and held hands and said prayer for Michael.

No immunity challenge due to Michael's injury.

Tribal Council

No tribal council due to Michael's injury.
