Huh.. Jericho hardly is SciFi...??? Pierre 12:09, 25 August 2008 (EDT)

It's post-apocalyptic which is a sub-genre of sci-fi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science_fiction#Other_SF_genres. It is speculation on possible future events based on realistic interpretations of the real world, science fiction isn't just about new technology, aliens and outer space. --The-jam 12:14, 25 August 2008 (EDT)
Nope - see [[1]]: "Apocalyptic fiction is a sub-genre of science fiction (or, in some cases, the more general category speculative fiction) ". SciFi is about future technology/science. Post-apocalyptic works generally is scifi as well, but in the case of Jericho it isn't. Pierre 12:46, 25 August 2008 (EDT)
Science fiction does not have to be technological science based it can also involve extrapolations of tendencies in society and explorations of worlds radically changed from our own. Both those areas easily apply to Jericho. Anthropology and sociology are sciences too. Read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Definitions_of_science_fiction it's clear science fiction is a bit of a misnomer and the majority of those definitions easily apply to Jericho.--The-jam 14:18, 25 August 2008 (EDT)
You are right as to anthropology and sociology, but you really are wrong regarding scifi - its a difference between speculative/fantastic fiction and scifi. Ask any literature scholar, and they will tell you. No one who knows the beginning of scifi would classify Jericho as a scifi series. Postapocalyptic - definitely. SciFi - no way. Pierre 15:14, 25 August 2008 (EDT)
Jericho is about a world radically changed from our own and deals realistically with the reprecussions on society as a whole due to that change. Our genre definitions on this site have traditionally been very loose and Jericho fits enough of the accepted defintion of science fiction (as I linked to above) to be counted particularly Robert Heinlein's who was one of the first people to write about the genre extensively. Please stop removing it from the category.--The-jam 15:22, 25 August 2008 (EDT)
