Talk:The Sally Lockhart Mysteries/The Ruby in the Smoke
From The TV IV
This is a co-production of WGBH Boston and is going to eventually air as an episode or two of Masterpiece Theatre. Nearly every episode of Masterpiece Theatre is done this way as a co-production with either the BBC or ITV that the UK network airs first as a stand alone movie or miniseries. Confusing the matter is the fact that they also occasionally acquire rights to some stuff that isn't co-produced (like Russell T. Davies' Casanova that Masterpiece aired this past October). We need to decide what gets listed separately and what gets listed under the Masterpiece banner. --The-jam 12:16, 2 January 2007 (EST)
- I know nothing about Masterpiece Theatre, and nobody seems to create "episode" pages for it, but it basically sounds like an American compilation of what are essentially British shows. How about listing the TV movies/miniseries individually and redirecting the Masterpiece Theatre episodes to them? We could also add notes like "this also aired as part N of Masterpiece Theatre". —Naddy 18:41, 2 January 2007 (EST)
- That's basically how the ABC Movie of the Week page works. All of the episodes that are pilots of other series or have otherwise already been aired before are just links to their appropriate pages. Alternatively, you can also set up redirects from the Masterpiece Theatre page to the main page. --IndieRockLance 19:16, 2 January 2007 (EST)
- They're British shows but WGBH Boston co-produces them specifically as episodes of Masterpiece Theatre and most wouldn't get made if they didn't. Although I do believe the British company puts up more of the money so listing each seperate would make sense. --The-jam 22:45, 2 January 2007 (EST)
