- Attended Georgia State University where she majored in business law and entertainment management
- Before appearing on "American Idol," she worked various jobs including a party motivator, daycare worker, waitress, telemarketer and ran her own cleaning service
- Married to singer/songwriter/producer Sam Watters since 2006; they have a daughter, Sienna Marie (born in 2010); is the stepmother to Sam's son, Kiernan from a previous relationship
