Season Eight of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles premiered on September 17, 1994.

This season see a dramatic change in the series. Due to the decline in popularity, coupled with the increase in popularity of more mature shows like Batman: The Animated Series and X-Men, the show was retooled into what fans refer to as the "Red Sky" seasons. These changes dropping the sillier aspects, making the characters more serious. Many recurring characters were written out as well. The animation was also changed with the normally blue sky being mostly red (hence the term).

This season is itself significant as it's the last to feature Shredder and Krang as the primary villains.
