Plot Overview

Jeb, Billy Joe and Elena arrive at the Lone Star Cafe unaware that Joe is watching them. Max tells Reena that old man Harper won't change his mind about drilling for oil. Iris sits with Alex in the hospital. Dr. Douglass tells Ryan and Iris that Alex is aphasic and may or may not get better from the stroke he had. As Joe watches outside, Jeb decides to show Elena some of the sights of New York. Striker tells Dennis that Alex had a massive stroke and may not make it. Striker tells Dennis that Iris is an important witness because she was being blackmailed by Chris. Iris accuses Ryan of being responsible for Alex's stroke because he was over working him and also accuses Ryan of wanting control of World Oil which she says she will make sure his involvement in is minimal. As Jeb and Elena tour Manhattan, Joe watches. Dennis tells Vivien that Striker is on his way to talk to Iris and she must stop Iris from telling him about their involvement. Ryan asks Justin to put a hold on his oiled project but he says he won't. Striker tells Iris there isn't much can do for Dennis except a manslaughter plea since Dennis confessed and wasn't so drunk that he couldn't drive to her house. Max tells Reena of Elena being in New York and says they can go hear her sing when she comes back and then Ryan arrives. Elena tells Jeb that she doesn't want to go back to Houston because it is bad news for her but Jeb says he is there to help and they kiss. Striker tells Iris that the DA wants 1st degree murder for Dennis because the paperweight had been wiped clean and then Vivien arrives. Ryan tells Max that he won't stop a project that Alex has already approved. Iris and Vivien tell Striker a story about how drunk Dennis was when he arrived at their house. Ryan tells Reena Jeb's suspicions about Barrett and asks her to keep an eye on Ginny for him. Striker tells Iris he doesn't believe their story and then Iris decides that she can't tell Vivien about how she wiped the paperweight clean. Jeb and Billy Joe discuss Skip and then Elena performs "It's All Over Town".
