Plot Overview
After the guests leave Iris comes down and Reena comforts her. At the Harper home, Justin and Ashley celebrate. Elena tries to convince Joe to surrender to the police. Bubba questions how Ryan took the news of their striking oil. Maggie tells Duane on the phone that he should take the job and if things quite down she may move to be with him. Joe surrenders and then realizes that Gus and Butch aren't the police. Iris tells Reena that Ryan caused Alex's stroke but Reena tells her that she can trust Ryan and Grant. Maggie tells Bobbie Sue about her possibly moving to Amarillo to be with Duane and then they talk about Billy Joe and Nita. Joe fights Gus and Butch when they plan to shoot Elena and Joe is shot. The men take the money and run. Grant stops by to check on Iris and Reena and Iris talks about Alex. Lurlene Harper says hi to Justin and meets Ashley but doesn't like Bubba. Joe tells Elena of a former surgeon that might be able to help him. Iris suggests that Grant and lacy stay with her and Reena thinks it's a good idea. Max tells Maggie and Rikki about Elena's phone call. A patron in a bar realizes that Elena is Elena Dekker the country and western singer. Jeb stops by the Harper place and meets, Ashley, Lurlene and Bubba. Reena arrives at Maggie's and sits with Max. Elena finds Jimmy MaCalister "Mac the knife" and tells him that a friend of his needs him and she won't take no for an answer. Iris and Grant talk about Dennis' case and Alex. Lurlene admits to Jeb that she doesn't like Bubba because he is too bossy. Maggie defends Billy Joe to Rikki and tells Rikki that she doesn't think Nita will go back to Billy Joe this time and he should give her time to find herself if he really wants her. Mac gives Elena some pills for Joe and then she tells Joe that she is taking him to the ranch.
