Plot Overview

Ben asks Lacey to keep Billy Joe at the studio but not to let Phil Roberts know. Roy tells Ruby that someone from Nashville called looking for her. Elena sits by Joe's bed in the hospital. Ginny and Ryan wait for Steve to come back so they can cut the cake. Barrett shows Steve a letter that makes Steve think Ginny wants him to live with Barrett. Rikki and Lacy discuss Elena and Joe. Elena tells Joe she is going to use the money from Maggie to get him a good lawyer. Roy tells Ruby the man who called didn't leave a name or address. Ginny and Ryan kiss. Barrett tells Steven he will always be 3rd choice with his Mom and Ryan or he can come live with Barrett on a ranch out west but the choice is up to him. Elena tells Ruby that the police might be interested in knowing about her involvement with Joe. Lacy tries to stall Billy Joe. T.J. and Vicky ask Reena what happened with her surprise for Justin. Then Reena goes upstairs to find Steve and reads a letter left on the bed. Elena tells Ruby to get Billy Joe to let her sing at the Coop or she will make sure everyone knows that Ruby knew about Joe. After Phil leaves, Ben tells Billy Joe they are planning to give him a promotion. Reena tells Ryan that Steve took off with Barrett. Billy Joe tells Ben he isn't comfortable doing commercials for Texas Tractor. Elena tells Rikki she is going to stand by Joe whether anyone understands or not. Reena shows Ryan a letter from Steve and suggests they call the highway patrol. Ben tells Billy Joe that the client likes the way he does the commercials and will pay him $50,000 a year to be their spokesperson. Elena offers Rikki her apartment and will stay on over the beauty parlor. Then Elena warns Ruby that she better watch out. Reena and Ryan tell Ginny that Steve went off with Barrett. Elena tells Joe if he goes to jail she'll wait for him but he can't ask that of her so he gives her his chain. Billy Joe tells Ruby about his new contract and then as Ruby gets glasses to celebrate with Beau enters. Ryan tells Ginny Barrett didn't take a plane so he must be somewhere in the area. Ryan promises Ginny that they will find Steve.
