Plot Overview

Billy Joe tells Ruby if he has to quit being co-host for his health he will. Beau puts more pills in Billy Joe's drink. Ryan talks to Reena about business as Ginny tries to call and learns the line is just ringing. Lurlene realizes the phone is dead and then sees Bubba. Ruby tells Billy Joe that she is going to get Beau a place on The Phil Roberts Show. Dr. Douglass tells Elena and Joe that he will be released soon and Elena tells Joe they need to get a good lawyer. Ginny, Ryan and Reena discuss the fact that there has been no word on Barrett and Steve. Bubba tells Lurlene they are going to get real acquainted and she runs away. Ruby tries to get Ben to listen to a tape of Beau singing. Billy Joe feels better but then drinks more drugged coffee. Ryan and Reena discuss Paige and Iris while Ginny still gets no answer at the ranch. Lurlene tries to stop Bubba from getting into her room but he grabs her. Ruby asks Billy Joe to speak to Ben about Beau but he refuses. Ginny learns the phone isn't working so she and Reena drive out to the ranch. Bubba and Lurlene struggle. Beau tells Ruby he put pills in Billy Joe's coffee and she tells him not to do it again. Elena asks Ryan to speak to Joe. Bubba tells Lurlene he is going to kill her like he did her kitten and she hits him over the head with a vase and then he falls down the stairs. Ben tells Ruby Phil won't let Beau on the show. Ryan tries to convince Joe to get a good lawyer. Reena and Ginny tend to Lurlene who is in shock. Ruby asks Billy Joe to speak to Phil about Beau and then Billy Joe feels dizzy. Elena remembers in flashback being cornered by Pete at the zoo and then Joe wakes and tells Elena she should find someone else but Elena says she'll never leave him. The sheriff questions Lurlene and guarantees Bubba will be gone for a long time. Kate gets a letter from Steve in Montana.
