The Big Showdown is a game show that aired on ABC.

Starting with a toss-up question, three contestants answered questions in a series of categories worth up to six points with the objective to match a designated "Payoff Point" worth a cash prize ($25 to $500). After two Payoff Points, the contestants participate in a 90-second speed round with every Payoff Point following the current one worth $100. The third-place player was eliminated.

The two remaining contestants play for a payoff point of 7, with questions worth 1 to 3 points. The winning player vies for $5000 by rolling two oversized dice with the sixes replaced with the words "Show" and "Down." If, on the initial roll, the dice come up “Show” and “Down,” the payoff is $10,000. Failing that, a Payoff Point is established and the contestant rolled the dice as many times as possible in 30 seconds, with $250 won for hitting the Payoff Point each time (plus five extra seconds) and $5000 if "Show" and "Down" was rolled.
