Plot Overview

In 1963, three Brooklyn boys who were close friends, Tony Scali, Paulie Pentangeli and Vinnie Raposo, all dreamed of growing up to be police officers. Fast-forward to 1982...Tony and Paulie are uniformed cops, and Vinnie becomes the first to be promoted to detective. Now, it's present-day 1995, and Tony, who's now the Commissioner of the Eastbridge, New York Police Department, and Paulie, who's now his top assistant, have returned to Brooklyn to uncover the truth about Vinnie's murder, a crime for which a low-life who claims he's innocent was convicted. Tony and Paulie confront another old 'friend' from the neighborhood, the gangster they suspect is the real killer, and also clash with an obstinate police Captain who insists the case is closed. As their investigation continues, painful old wounds start to open up for Paulie.
