Plot Overview
Vincent and Scoville travel to Washington to warn a Senator that one of his closest friends may be in league with the Invaders, but he's killed by a suitcase bomb shortly after meeting with them and a McCarthy-like government attorney goes after them for the murder.

This is where it ends...after one and a half seasons, the series ended abruptly with no resolution to the conflict, disappointing the series' loyal cult of fans.
But was it REALLY the end? In the years following the cancellation of the series, the rights to the show changed hands several times, eventually landing in the hands of another mega-producer, Aaron Spelling. Spelling Entertainment had taken over Laurel Productions, a company owned by horror movie director George A. Romero, and Romero, being a fan of the series, convinced Spelling to let him do a two-part miniseries to wrap up the loose ends (the biggest loose end being that the aliens were never thwarted).
So in 1995, Romero produced the miniseries as a special for the Fox network. Roy Thinnes appeared as David Vincent in the beginning of the film. The pursuit of the aliens and his failure to stop the invasion threat left Vincent a broken man in every sense of the word, so he handed the torch to a new hero (played by Quantum Leap star Scott Bakula), and the new hero proceeded to do what David Vincent had tried and failed to do...prevent the aliens from invading Earth!
