Plot Overview
Six months previously Toby and Oz are called to an apartment where Leslie Cahill lies fatally wounded and force entry. At the susequent trial of record producer Peter Gavin, Toby's paramedic skills are called into question when, whilst trying to save the victim's life, he tramples on a crime scene and compromised the evidence.
Toby is able to read the thoughts of those giving testimony, including the victim's sister,Rebecca who claims the accused was responsible for her sister's death. While Toby isn't convinced the victim's sister is telling everything she knows, he gets a telepathic hit from someone sitting in the courtroom gallery. Toby discovers the victim was being watched the night of the murder, and that an eyewitness could be the only hope of finding out what happened and who was responsible. The eyewitness who has an obsession for the victim is reluctant to come forward and feels responsible and suicidal.
Toby and Oz also attend to an accident victim suffering from amnesia who knows Toby and could shed some light on his past.
