Plot Overview
Davy falls in love with a girl whose Sweet 16 party the band is auditioning for. She wants them to play, but her father forbids it, fearing what his country club will say. Davy begins seeing her on the side, but her grades start to fall, so the Monkees have to help her pass her courses in order to win back the dad's trust.
Notes
This was the first episode of the series filmed, but was moved back in the rotation for stronger episodes to air first. As such, there are some notable differences in the show. The Monkees have a manager, who refers to Mike as "Wool Hat," and the Monkees' car is distinctly different.
At the end of the show, the producers tagged on the original auditions for Mike and Davy.
