Controversy
A few weeks prior its premiere, the miniseries was the source of some controversy involving its sensitive content. Pre-release reviews suggested that it was critical of the Clinton administration's handling of terrorism-related events. This led to many Democrats, historians, and officials of the Clinton administration to petition ABC to scrap the series, claiming that it did not accurately portray the history. The director of the project denied the claim saying, "There was no agenda for this movie to go after a particular party or person," and "we were showing what happened, and the people who were involved along the way. This is not a blue-state/red-state movie."[1]
