The Price Is Right Million Dollar Spectacular is a series of game show specials that are spun-off from The Price Is Right, particularly the currently running version. The first sixteen specials were hosted by Bob Barker and all subsequent specials have been hosted by Drew Carey.
During the Barker run, contestants vied for $1 million in cash by spinning the wheel in the Showcase Showdown and landing on $1.00 exactly on his/her bonus spin (acquired by spinning $1.00 in one spin or combination of two in his/her regular turn). This never happened during Barker's tenure. On the Carey run, contestants go for the $1 million in either a pre-determined pricing game or in the Showcase, by coming within $1000 (later $500) of the price of his/her Showcase without going over. There have been three winners of the $1 million to date.
