Plot Overview
Harry Chase comes to North Fork and meets Lucas in Milly's store. Lucas was Chase's training officer during the Civil War. When he mentions his regiment, Milly immediately realizes that Chase served with her brother, who was killed in action. Chase remembers him and claims her brother was standing beside him when he was shot. Chase and Milly are clearly attracted to one another and Lucas is a bit jealous but Chase's tales of the various battles he was in suggest something else.
