Plot Overview
While recovering from being wounded, Terry accepts an assignment at the state prison to learn from prison guards, but instead takes the place of a newly-arrested inmate in order to better learn about prison life. It isn't long before his real identity is discovered by a vicious prison guard, and eventually by his fellow prisoners, who use him as a hostage when they carry out their plans to riot. Terry convinces the riot's leader to allow him to negotiate on their behalf.
