Homer to the Max is the thirteenth episode of the tenth season of The Simpsons, and the two-hundred and sixteenth episode overall.

Plot Overview

While searching through Channels to find a Show to watch,The Simpson Family come across a Police Crime Drama called "Police Cops".This Show is Pilot.It is about two Partners,one name Lance Haufman,and the other is the Main Star,a Suave,and well-dressed Cop name Homer Simpson,whose catch phrase is:"And, thats the end of that Chapter".The Simpson Family ,and especially Homer are surprised that this TV Cop has the same name as Homer.In the the days to follow,Homer receives compliments,and telephone calls from people that he has'nt heard from for years.One of these phone calls comes from a High School Cheerleader name Debbie,who wants to know if Homer is still available,to which Homer yes,but Marge says No.The attention because of his name gives Homer a BIG head,but that would soon change the following week.While at Moe's with his Friends,Homer,and his Friends starting "Police Cops,Homer is shocked to see that the previously suave Homer Simpson from last weeks Pilot has changed to an overweight,and bumbling Sidekick,who's catch phrase is:"Oh,Oh Spagetti's".While his Friends laugh at the Comedcal antics on T.V.,Homer does not find it funny at all.At Marges suggestion,Homer goes to the Network to talk to the Producers to beg them to change the Simpson character back to the Suave one from before.The Producers refused to comply to Homers request.So,Homer decides to sue the Producers of Police Cops,but loses the Case.He then pettions for his name to be changed (so as not to be mocked in Public anymore).Homer new name will be Max Power.As Max Power,Homer would find himself hobknobbing with many Celebrities,including Ed Begley Jr.Homer is enjoying this hobknobbing until while at a Party,the Host mentions that they should all,and he quotes:"Give something back,to Mother Earth".Homer,Marge,and the Hosts Party Guests head for the Preserved Forrest to prevent Loggers from cutting down many Redwood Trees.Homer is not enjoying this,especially being chained to a Redwood Tree with the others.Chief Wiggim is called to remove the Protestors from the Trees.Chief Wiggim decides instead to use Mace on the Protestors,not the spray,but the a squab.He decides to have Eddie his fellow Cop squab Homer first(because of his smart-alerk remark).Homer refuses to be squabbed,and prceeds to run around the Redwoos Tree.The Cops chase him,but can't catch him.Unforetunately,Homers persistant running causes the chain to cut the Redwood in half,causes a chain reaction which causes the other Redwoods to fall.Nobody is hurt,but after this incident,Homer is ostrasized from the In-Group of Celebrities.Homer decides to change his name back .Having a name like Max Power was too much pressure.

The Family gathers around the Television Set to check out the various T.V. Shows.Homer,Marge,and the In-Crowd of Protestors chain themselves to the Redwood Trees.Homer,and Marge meet,and greet the In Crowd of Celebrities.

• Midseason TV debuts:
  • All In the Family: An "updated" ethnic version of the iconic 1970s TV series, once again with (presumably) Carroll O'Connor returning as TV's most famous bigot. The original show was a mid-season replacement.
  • America's Funniest Home Videos: The latest Simpsons parody is "America's Funniest Tornadoes" ... presumably -- given the clip of a farmer who is struck in the groin area with a wind-blown stop sign -- a collection of tornadoes causing destruction, people fleeing and weird patterns caused by tornadoes set to humorous commentary and music and the requisite laugh track.
