The Blunder Years is the fifth episode of the thirteenth season of The Simpsons, and the two-hundred and seventy-fourth episode overall.

Plot Overview

The Simpson Family go out for the evening for some entertainment.During the evening Homer volunteers to be hypnotised by The Great Mezmoreno,a professional Hypnotist.He hypnotises Homer into a ten-year old boy again.Homer recalling himself as a ten year playing at the Old Watering Hole.Suddenly Homer starts screaming hysterically.Mezmoreno snaps him out of his trance.Even out of his trance,Homer screams even louder,shocking everybody in the Restaurant.Marge,and the Kids are unable to calm Homer down.He continues to scream throughout the Night,and into Morning.Even at work where Lenny,and Carl bring him Home.To find out what Homer is reliving some repressed memory from his past Marge gives Homer some Memory Tea after drinking the Tea Homer recalls himself Lenny,Carl,and Moe going to the Old Swimming Hole.There,Homer after having jumped into the Quarry landing in some mud,he comes across a dead corpse.There is the root of Homers repressed memory.Homer had blocked out this memory,and never mentioned it to anybody.The Simpsons reasoned that since never told anybody about that corpse,the corpse must still be there.The Simpson visit the Quarry,and with Chief Wiggum coming along(they run into him)they find what remains of the corpse,a skeleton head.The Quarry leads to an Underground Tunnel,and then a Hatch.They open the Hatch which leads to what they believe to be the Culprit for tossing the body down the Hatch.The person that they discover is Mr.Burns.Burns admits to dumping the Corpse down the Hatch but he is not responsible for the death of the Man who was his Friend,a Employee name Waylon Smithers Sr.Burns proceeds to prove his innocense with an old Survaillance Film.The Surveilance does prove Burns innocence,and Smithers Jr, having watched the Film learns the true cause of his Father's demise.Burns had told Smithers that his Father had been killed by a group of Savage Women,to spare Smithers the grim truth about his Fathers demise.Smithers is glad that at least his Father died heroically.So ends case of Homers hysterics,and the true about Smithers Father.Both men hae closure.
