- The Prisoner: During Marge's escape from the Movementarian compound, she is eventually chased by a large white ball that looks like a weather balloon. The entire sequence is a reference to the 1960s series The Prisoner, in which an ex-spy is held captive in a mysterious village. In the Village, a white ball (occasionally called "Rover") is used to subdue or kill escapists, presumably by suffocating them just as it does Hans Moleman. The music that plays throughout her escape is the theme music from the series.
