Plot Overview

After fighting a never-ending wave of walkers, everyone is exhausted and unsure of what they can trust.

Arc Advancement

Happenings

• Scores of walkers descend on Alexandria. While everyone assumes it's Alpha, Lydia asserts she would have used the horde if was trying to kill them. Eugene attributes it to the downed satellite and the day after the meeting with Alpha, the waves appear to come to an end.

• Carol claims to have seen three Whisperers after the meeting at the border, but it's chalked up as part of her hallucinations. Another she claims to have seen at the gym turns out to be real and reanimates after Carol manages to fatally shoot them.

• Alexandria meets with Alpha who lets them know they she knows about their breeches. However, due to the circumstances, she doesn't retaliate and instead redraws the border, expanding the Whisperer territory.

Characters

• Carol has been taking medication to keep herself awake, suffering from hallucinations. Also, despite her denials to Daryl, she is clearly set on revenge against Alpha.

• Dante confronts Siddiq about his obvious suffering from PTSD.

• After Rosita's exhaustion leads her to lash at Eugene that they won't be an item, he questions their friendship as he realises it was built on the hope that he could change her mind.

• Aaron is still distrustful of Negan who doesn't want to fight. However, when Aaron is blinded, Negan saves him.

Referbacks

• Alpha assures Alexandria that they know not just about crossing over for the fire, but also Michonne and Aaron searching across the river ("Lines We Cross") and during the snowstorm ("The Storm").

• Carol's hallucination when she picks up the book shows her with her short hair, as well as the children she's lost: Henry, Sam Anderson, sisters Lizzie and Mika Samuels, and her own daughter Sophia.
