Plot Overview
A stranger rides into a small town with a body he claims is that of notorious outlaw Cass Desmond, claiming that he shot in self-defense and is ready to claim the reward money. The only person who can identify the body is a colleague of Hoby's who lost an arm in a gun battle with Desmond. They arrive in town to identify the body, but Hoby's friend is unable to make out whether or not it's Desmond. The shooter disappears before Hoby can talk to him, which arouses his suspicions.
