Plot Overview
While staking out a hotel hallway during a pursuit of a dangerous robber, Hoby shoots and critically wounds a fleeing figure he suspects is the robber, only to learn that he shot a teenaged boy. He becomes a pariah to the town, despite his claim that he acted in the line of duty, and after the boy dies, he becomes the target of his brutish father, who wants revenge.
