Trivia Trap, a game show airing on ABC daytime, was the last original production for the Mark Goodson Productions firm.
The show pitted two teams--a team of three people over the age of 30 and a team of three people under the age of 30. In the first round, two rows of four answers to a question are shown. The object is to select a row and pick out the three incorrect answers. The team scores $50 for selecting the first wrong answer, $100 for the second and $300 for the third. Picking the right answer, the team loses control to the opponents.
Round two has the teams answering questions in various categories for $50 a pop. First team to $1000 wins the game.
Later in the run, the game play changed. The first round had teams answering true or false questions. This led into a round where teams selected a packet of categories and as a team member picked out of four answer possibilities, his/her teammates had to agree or disagree with him.
That team plays for $10,000. Here, four possible answers are shown to a question, and a team member could play or pass it to his/her teammates. If the players make it by this part, they can answer one more question to win the big prize.
