Plot Overview

The sky continues to split, frightening the townspeople. Sakura passes out but Syaoran wakes her up. The statue of Yasha begins to weep tears of blood, and both Fai and Kurogane can sense bloodlust from the tear in the sky. Suzuran runs up to the statue of Ashura, lamenting that it can't possibly be the cause of this calamity.

Just then, a third eye opens up on the Ashura statue, and a beam of light stretches from each statue to the sky. Syaoran and Sakura see Mokona flying overhead. Mokona says there is no feather in this world, but there is one there. It transports Syaoran, Sakura, Fai, and Kurogane. On the way over, Sakura sees Ashura and Yasha in an embrace.

Syaoran and Sakura wake up to see Ashura on a horse, looming above them. They have landed in the middle of a battlefield, where Clan Ashura fights against Clan Yasha. They see Yasha not too far away, behind which sits Fai and Kurogane on horses, neither of them showing any signs of recognition toward the teenagers. Ashura mentions that the moon is at its zenith, so now the battle ends. The entire army of Ashura is transported away, along with Syaoran, Sakura, and Mokona.

Ashura invites them back to the castle as guests, where Mokona pigs out. Sakura recognizes an instrument held by one of the servants as something she remembers from Clow Country, so Syaoran and Ashura ask her to play. While Sakura plays Syaoran asks Mokona if it senses a feather, and Mokona gestures at the castle near the moon.

The next morning, Syaoran and Mokona eat with Askura, who explains that they have been at war with Clan Yasha for ages now. They always meet at the castle near the moon and fight, because supposedly the castle can grant one's greatest desire. Ashura does not know where Clan Yasha comes from. Meanwhile, Sakura still has not woken up.

Syaoran accompanies the army that evening, wearing armor provided by Ashura. The group is transported to the castle, where they see the armies of Yasha led by Fai and Kurogane. They still do not recognize Syaoran, who rides up to meet them. Kurogane attacks him.

Syaoran thinks that perhaps these are merely alternate versions of Kurogane and Fai, until he sees Kurogane's sword — Souhi. The sword should be unique to Kurogane, since it was gained in Ōto Country. This Kurogane also uses the same attacks, unleashing a barrage of powerful maneuvers that eventually corner Syaoran at the point of Kurogane's sword. Ashura strikes before Kurogane can kill Syaoran.

Back at Castle Ashura, the slumbering Sakura begins to glow.

Yasha arrives as well, unleashing a powerful attack that shakes and shatters the ground the armies stand on. Syaoran remarks that both Ashura and Yasha are very powerful. The two leaders sit on their horses, staring each other down.
