Basic Information
Henry Grubstick is an acountant at Meade Publications. He hails from Tucson, Arizona and is a bookworm who knows everything.
Character History
Henry, who works on the 3rd floor of Meade Publications, is Betty's love interest, but for unfortunate circumstances they have yet to be a couple.
When they first met, Betty enlisted Henry's help in exposing Wilhelmina's tax statements. But it would be afterwards that Betty became smitten with Henry, up to the point that she became flustered by him, even as she tried to work out her relationship with Walter. She almost made her dream of having Henry a reality in "Fake Plastic Snow", but it would be dashed after she sees a model kisses him. And to make matters worse, when Henry called to apologize by inviting Betty over to watch "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer", Hilda answered the phone and withheld the message from Betty.
Several weeks later Henry told Betty that the model that kissed him was Daniel Meade's ex, then at Fashion Week told her about the phone call, prompting Betty to fire Hilda on the spot after learning that she never told her about the message. However it appears that because of these events Henry went back to Arizona to try to work things out with former girlfriend Charlie, who a week later showed up in New York hoping to restart their relationship. As a result of this Betty decided to give up her pursuit of Henry, only to discover that she still had feelings for him, prompting Charlie to tell Betty to back off, even though Henry and Charlie's relationship had been on the rocks.
In the season finale, Henry told Betty that he and Charlie were through as a couple, but Charlie would later show up to tell Betty that she was pregnant thus crushing Betty's dreams. But the following day Betty learned from her dental assistant that Charlie had been dating Dr. Gabe Farkas, Betty's orthodontist, so it is unclear at this point whether Henry or Gabe is the father of Chalie's baby.
