WPXC is the call sign for the ION affiliate in the Jacksonville, Florida market and is licensed to the city of Brunswick GA (approximately 75 miles north of Jacksonville). It broadcasts on digital channel 24.3, displayed as virtual 21. Its subcarriers carry Court TV (21.2), Laff TV (21.3), Court TV Mystery (21.4), QVC (21.5) and HSN (21.6).

Channel 21 was founded in 1987 but did not sign on until 1990 as independent WBSG. It switched to the WB in 1995 then to ABC in 1997 as a semi-satellite to WJXX/channel 25 in Jacksonville. ABC had been on WJKS/channel 17 (today WCWJ) and thus switched to the WB when ABC moved to WJXX.

The tiny network Pax (headed out of Florida by Bud Paxson) started up in 1998 and made channel 21 its Southeast Georgia and Jacksonville home. The station's call changed to WPXC, where it remains to this day. In 2006, Pax changed to "i" and then a year later it became Ion. As the digital television took form, WPXC took channel 24 as its physical broadcast channel. A translator functioned in Jacksonville, WPXJ-LP/channel 41, but that ended in 2014.

WPXC's parent company, Ion Media, has been purchased by E.W. Scripps through a funneling of $600 million from Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway, thus turning Ion Media into a subsidiary. Scripps has sold Ion stations in certain markets to INYO Broadcasting in order to meet ownership caps; Jacksonville is not among them. On February 28, 2020, Scripps will discontinue the subchannels qubo, Ion Plus, QVC and Ion Shop and start migrating channels from its Katz Broadcasting subsidiary such as Laff (currently on WPXC's subchannel tier), Bounce, Grit and Court TV. The transition will be affected starting March 1 and will be completed within the next five years as affiliation agreements with the other stations end.
