History
Warner-Amex Satellite Entertainment originated as a cable television company, joint-venture of Warner Bros.' cable division and American Express. In 1986 Viacom gained full interest of Warner-Amex, renaming it MTV Networks the following year. Following the 2005 Viacom split, MTV Networks and BET Networks became the "new" Viacom's television divisions.
