A Warner Bros. Discovery company that is the direct corporate descendant of the motion picture distribution company incorporated in 1923 by the namesake Warner Brothers. It has been known by many names including Warner Bros. Studios, Warner Bros.-Seven Arts, and Warner Communications. The television production and distribution division of the company is Warner Bros. Television (founded in 1955) and its home video distributor is Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (founded in 1978); the latter also operates a joint venture with Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, Studio Distribution Services. Warner Bros. also owns DC Comics and a 12.5% stake in The CW network.
