Allusions and References
- The episode title is an obvious play on the Nightmare on Elm Street slasher films.
- Gary's finish to Chett's reassurance is taken from the mantra of recurring Saturday Night Live self-help character Stuart Smalley (played by Al Franken) who would often end his show by looking in a mirror and encouraging his audience to say "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me."
- Chett: You're strong enough, you're tough enough.
- Gary: And doggone it, people like you.
- While modifying the dream chair, Wyatt makes a joke about how the dilithium crystals are going to blow. Dilithium crystals are an element in the Star Trek franchise that help the warp drives in ships.
Memorable Moments
Goofs
- When the boys first get in the dream chair, the helmet descends on Wyatt's head while the one above Gary doesn't, but is seen level with his in the next shot.
