Plot Overview
Former pageant queen Karen Gustaferro and her husband, Ralph from Upstate New York cater to their 15-year-old daughter, Alicia's every whim. Alicia has been winning beauty pageants since she was a baby and the family has a year-round Christmas tree with a present for her every day.
Karen swaps lives with feminist Angie Boss from Indiana who homeschools her three daughters: 12-year-old Kaylyn, 6-year-old Clara and 2-year-old Katy, teaching them how to be independent and live their life without influences from pop culture & female stereotypes. She also teaches the girls how to change the oil and flat car tires in case of an emergency. Angie's husband, DuWain is very strict with the girls. While Kaylyn is sheltered and prefers not having friends, Clara dreams of becoming a pop star and likes to wear makeup.
